What you'll need...
Swimsuits for meets - solid black
Swimsuits for practice - full coverage suits - any brand / color. (Speedo, TYR, Dolfin Uglies...)
Swim goggles - goggle fit is extremely important! You can try on goggles, so make sure you get a good fit.
The goggles should fit comfortably around the eye and suction comfortably when dry.
Test each eye separately.
Flippers - there are different styles of swim fins - make sure to get closed heel, "long fins"

Swim cap for practice - silicone and latex are the most common materials.
Swim cap for meets - purchase an orange TAC swim cap
Towel
Optional:
Rubber pool shoes
Water bottle (sometimes a distraction for younger swimmers)
